Water is essential to us. We can live without electricity but without water? I don’t think we can survive.

I think two weeks ago, it was announced over Maayong Buntag Mindanao (Good Morning Mindanao) that Davao Water District (DCWD) would undergo pipe replacements in some parts of Davao City. The announcement was made two days prior to the said activity of DCWD, giving affected residents a chance to prepare. Unfortunately, the place where I live was affected with the mentioned repair and water interruption for 8 hours was experienced.

Right after the announcement, I checked on the DCWD's website to have clear information about the schedule of water interruption. However, Davao City Water District's official site is not updated with Water Interruption details. But I can always call their landline number at 221-9400.

It was/is frustrating to know that DCWD website doesn’t have up-to-date information about water interruption. What if I wasn’t watching the morning show that time? ... Not fond of listening to the radio. Then I would end up scratching my head almost choking after having a big bite of pizza only to find out there's no water to drink (although we have cold water inside the fridge).

Davao City Water District's website is filled with information about the company. You can read about the history of DCWD, Mission and Vision, Officers and ways to contact them. I haven’t tried using its contact support yet.

Water Statistics

Then the site also has water statistics of which I don’t understand (hehe). I have yet to try the importance of the water rates posted on the site as well. It seems a little too complicated for me to handle since there are no details about the computation.

But with Water Analysis part, I think I may have something to discuss with my sister since I have wide knowledge about Microbiology thingy. They also have information about their collection centers, which I'm already aware of. And if you want to join their contests, like oratorical and poster making contests, you can download the entry forms. Oh, wait! The entry forms were for last year's competition.

About the Biddings part, well, I don’t find it essential, at least for me (lol).

They also have Interactive Maps wherein it provides a simple map highlighting their collection centers.

RTC

If you click on the RTC (The Regional Training Center) tab of the Davao City Water District website, another window will appear showing the "Advanced Policymakers' Seminar." However, the main menus don’t have any content… yet. I hope to see the Gallery menu.

Oh, I think they also removed the water-flowing sound I used to hear every time I open Davao City Water District's website. Overall though, it's an interesting site. But it would be more informative if they'll update the Water Interruption page.
