Movie Review: Angelina Jolie's Changeling

Changeling Movie(Photo: Flickr.com by Allessandra Ogeda)-- Changeling movie is based on a true story, with Clint Eastwood as the film director.

The movie premiered in May 2008 at the Cannes Film Festival and was recently shown in the movie theaters here in the Philippines.

It's a story about Christine Collins (Angelina Jolie), a mother, who lost her son. She recounted the incident to the authorities, after hours of assiduous quest for her son, Walter.

Her plight brought forth media attention through Reverend Gustav Briegleb (John Malkovich) that started from his radio program.

Shortly after months of waiting, Christine received a call from the authorities that her son was found and he was alive. A public reunion for Christine and Walter was scheduled.

However, upon seeing her son, Christine was devoid of any maternal connection with the boy. To avoid the already tarnished reputation of LAPD for further embarrassment, Captain J. J. Jones (Jeffrey Donovan), the head of the LAPD's Juvenile Division, convinced her that it was indeed her son and that it was normal for someone who's been long separated from her son to feel that way. Christine, on the other hand, hesitantly obliged to the captain's command.

But, truly, mother knows best. Pieces of evidence such as the height and the circumcised organ caused an argument that the said Walter wasn’t her blood. And the sudden excitement of the movie began.
Changeling Movie, Movie Poster
Changeling movie had an excellent plot, I would say. I think that Angelina Jolie's part could just be played by any actress. And I agree with Yahoo!'s Movie Best and Worst Movie Posters of 2008 where they rated Changeling as one of the worst movie posters of 2008. Just by looking at the picture, it doesn’t convey the movie's genre. It is more like a horror film. Or maybe because I'm not a big fan of Angelina Jolie…(Photo: yahoo.com)
