Roosters Crow in the Morning... Why?

I don’t need to use an alarm clock as I am always awaken by the shrill cry of the cock owned by our neighbor.

Roosters do crow any time of the day but most of the crowing occurs early in the morning because they are most active at this time. They crow to advertise their territory. This is their way of saying, “This is my territory, so get out of my way.” But this territorial advertising is just one of the types of communication roosters make.
