This sweet Duco Lanzones just grew at the back of my parents' backyard. Its fruits are sweet and juicy. The army of black ants enveloping some of its fruits is evidence that this Lanzones is indeed sweet.

Said to be a top tourist destination in Lingayen Gulf, Hundred Islands of the Philippines is regarded as one of the wonders of nature.
Located in Alaminos City, Pangasinan, Hundred Islands composed of 124 islands during low tide and 123 at high tide. Considered as a wonderful place to be one with nature, Hundred Islands cover an area of 18.44 square kilometers, approximately 4,557 acres.
Believed to be around 2 million years old, Hundred Islands are also great for boating and diving, as well as top bird watching. Out of the 124 islands, only 3 of them (Governor Island, Quezon Island, and Children's Island) have been developed for local and international tourists.
I am not sure how it happened but after I downloaded updates for my genuine Windows XP corporate edition, I received this notification: "You may be a victim of software counterfeiting..."
Nope. I remembered it was my pal (not sure if he is still my friend now) who gave me this Windows XP Corporate Edition CD about three years ago. He even warned me not to distribute it as it was a genuine copy of Windows XP.
I was able to download updates before until two weeks ago when that message just showed up unexpectedly. I was surprised. Maybe that copy was indeed counterfeit software. Or maybe, that was his (my ex-friend) way of telling me that I am no longer part of his circle of friends (or was I ever part of that circle?). :((
Anyway, I have not fixed the problem yet, though I have read articles about solutions that could somehow delete such notification.
One solution computer experts recommend to get rid of "Victim of Software Counterfeiting" notification is to restore my system.
Another solution I found was to access Task Manager and end the "wgatray.exe." After doing so, I should log in to the Safe Mode and delete the WgaTray.exe file from C:\\windows\system32. And so on and so forth.
I am scared to try the second solution because it might ruin all my (unimportant) files in that PC.
Since my mom is only using that PC for games (like Zumba and Bookworm), I should not worry about that for now. If it won't work one day, then that will be the time I would reformat it and will still install that "genuine" Windows XP my (ex) friend gave me. Sighs.
My computer cooling fans installed in my unit produce louder noise each day. So I’m looking into a quieter device that would cool my desktop while in use for more than 6 hours every day. According to my research, a liquid cooling system is said to be a better solution in helping cool down the computer as it emits too much heat.
A liquid cooling for PC works the same way as the cooling system of a car, computer experts said. Two of its advantages are the following:
More efficient
Reduction of noise
While some of its disadvantages are noted below:
Needs greater space to work efficiently and effectively
Requires advanced technical skills for installation
Based on the written articles I have gathered, liquid cooling is only advisable for computer users who want to over clock their units. Hmmm, that said, I have to stick to my noisy computer cooling fans.
Last week, my Windows-based desktop restarted itself while watching “Lady in the Water.” Although I’m used to my Windows 7 sickness, this time it was different. It was stuck at POST screen and would not load BIOS. I pushed the restart button. Same thing happened. Then I rebooted it, again. Nothing happened.
The first solution I got from the Internet using my laptop was to unplug everything which was connected to my desktop, except for the mouse, keyboard, and monitor.
With only mouse, keyboard, and monitor plugged to my PC, it finally worked. The Windows 7 Welcome screen appeared.
According to techspot.com, the probable reasons for computer sticking to POST screen are the following:
Bad RAM
Bad CPU
Bad Video Card
Bad Motherboard
And everything that is connected to the PC
I shut down my computer and reconnected everything. When I booted it, the problem was solved. It no longer stuck at POST screen. Whew!
I have this unexplainable fascination with sunflower. So, I bought sunflower seeds from Yates and plant those seeds in a flower pot. According to the instruction, we can replant it to a new place after two weeks or until it reaches 50 cm. So far, 9 out of 10 seeds did grow. Now, I am trying to protect them from the beaks of the birds that look for food.
Please avoid wearing mascara too much. It is an eyesore and it makes my eyes bleed, as well, every time I see someone wearing too much mascara. Mascara's aim is to enhance one's beauty and bring positive attention to the wearer. Too much of it will simply bring unwanted attention. And it ruins everything… your entire make up that is. Oh, by the way, mascara should look natural when it is completed.
"The Future is Clearer with SkyCable" says the slogan of the company.
Last week, I received a letter of "care" from the country's leading cable provider notifying me that effective October 1, 2010, my current subscription will be enhanced to a more digitally rate—from PHP 675 to PHP 750. The enhancement is caused by the introduction of the highest quality signal in cable TV and new programs.
The highest quality signal comes from its digital signal through Digibox that has the following features:
Customizable channel line-up
On-Screen Electronic Program Guide
Child-Lock feature
Channel Surfing Organizer
The company describes its new channels as "latest exciting programs." But what is so latest about Fox Channel, AFC, Fox News, and Solar Sports? And what is so exciting about ETC, 2nd Avenue, Biography, and History channels? How about deleting those inutile channels, like Community Channel and Sky 77? Also, why Sky Cable packages do not have MTV Channel in it? Mayhap because Sky Cable is a sister company of ABS-CBN, a broadcasting corporation that also owned MYX channel (music channel). That means, if MTV steps into the package, the ratings of MYX will eventually go down to the bottom. What a fair competition.
Anyway, since I cannot stop being a subscriber of this cable company (my parents do not have anything to watch if I cease the subscription), I have no choice but to continue it. However, the package I will be signing up for is a product without Star Sports, HBO, Cinemax, ESPN, Hallmark, Australia Network, Solar Sports and Fashion TV. What an exciting package indeed…sigh.
I love wearing perfume. It makes me smell "enticing" though I am sweating profusely. Truly, perfume can take away the real odor of one person (nyay). The content of my 5 ml Bvlgari (eau de parfum II) is going to be empty soon and I was hoping I could purchase discount perfumes during the Kadayawan sale in any of the malls here in DC. Unfortunately, the only discount perfumes available did not suit my taste (it's either too strong or too mild).
I tried to shop online for discount perfumes but reliable online fragrance stores do not ship to the Philippines because of "legal and contractual restrictions." Oy vey!
Mi guardo e trovo un vuoto dentro me
E l'allegria, amica mia, va via con te

I’ll miss you, if you go away
I’ll miss your serenity
Your words like songs in the wind
And Love, that you take away.
I’ll miss you, if you go away
Now and forever I don’know how to live
And joy, my friend, goes away with you
I’ll miss you, I’ll miss you, because you go away
Because the love in you is dead
Because, because...
Nothing it’s gonna change, I know
And inside of me I feel you
I’ll miss you, I’ll miss you, because you go away
Because the love in you is dead
Because, because...
Nothing it’s gonna change, I know
And inside of me I feel you
I’ll miss the immensity
Of our days and nights,us together
Your smiles when it’s getting dark
Your being naive like a little boy
I’ll miss you, my love
I look at myself and I find emptiness inside of me
And joy, my friend, goes away with you
.... such a lovely song from Josh Groban's Closer album
… to my friend who did not invite me to his wedding.
…ah, the last solo violin part just mesmerized my soul once again…

The Philippines has a tropical climate. In other words, we always experience hot and humid weather. For that reason, most households have their own air conditioning unit installed. And I need one to cool the hot temperature encircling my room. But I do not want to rip part of my room's concrete wall just to get the cooling device installed. So, I am left with a better option—portable air conditioner.
As I made my research on how to choose the right portable air conditioner for my room, many experts tackle about BTU or British Thermal Units as one of the first things consumers (like me) need to consider. Basically, the higher the BTU, the better.
Water disposal is another consideration I need to look into when choosing for a perfect portable air conditioner for my "hot" room. Experts say, I should choose the one that suits my budget and preference. I have two options here: to opt for the one that recycles the water through the air or the portable air conditioner that has a tube used to dispose the water into a water tray. I think I would choose the former but a brand with cheaper price.
Apart from those factors mentioned above, I should not forget about looking for a portable air conditioner that has an energy efficiency label on it. According to experts, the higher the EER or energy efficiency ratio, the more efficient the conditioning unit is.
As for the other features, I will definitely go for the one that offers lower price.
I am still scouting around looking for the best priced-portable air conditioner that suits my preference.
