That was the first time I used eBay to purchase online. Unfortunately, I had to face Speed Bump Error when I was about to pay. The said error says: Sorry, you've hit a speed bump! To continue checkout, please try again. But nothing happened when I tried it twice.
So, I googled the error and this is what I found:
arladanielle (61 ) View Listings | Posts: 3 | Report
I have encountered this Speed Bump thing today in paying via Paypal. Guess what! Ive searched solutions from other countries and I tried this one which worked! It's not a problem with the seller but with Paypal in our country. Then I was able to pay my seller even if i contacted him.
1. Go to http://www.ebay.com (US)
2. Sign in as usual
3. Go to My Won
4. Use checkout and pay as usual(you will need to log in at Paypal)
4. After ebay.com says Thank you for your payment, click view your order details. Payment will be confirmed and an email will be sent to you at your email address.
5. Forward this email message to the seller (just in case he does not receive it, but I'm sure he will coz Paypal will mail him too.)
6. Problem resolved!
I hope this helps. It helped me!
Yes, it did help me. I was able to pay for the item. After a day, I received a confirmation that the seller has received my payment. It took another day before I got a reply from the seller.
Last Monday, Yahoo! greeted me with news about the death of Brittany Murphy. It came as a surprise considering that I just had a rerun of Clueless the night before. Her laughter in that movie still lingers in my memory.
May you rest in peace Brittany Murphy.

This is a Sponsored Post written by me on behalf of Bidazzled. All opinions are 100% mine.
Most of the time, online auctions will have a winner and a loser. The winner will get the item while the loser will go home without the desired item. This is the typical type of online auction. However, if you want to find a different kind of online auction, then Bidazzled Entertainment Auctions is just the right place for you and me.
In Bidazzled Entertainment Auctions, you will save 80% off the retail price, if you will be declared as the winner. The company will offer you to purchase the item back for cash, cash and bids or bids.
But if you do not win, you can still obtain up to 50 bonus bids. This is the management's way of saying thank you for participating. As mentioned earlier, nobody loses in this type of auction.
Last month, Bidazzled Entertainment Acutions just had two winners for Nintendo Wii's using only their 5 free bids.
Apart from offering savings to their members, Bidazzled is also funding a lung cancer charity, specifically the Ruch Foundation (www.ruchfoundation.com). In other words, you are not only aiming for your desired item but you are also helping those individuals who have lung cancer. Now, that's the kind of auction you need these holidays.
So, if you want to bid and help lung cancer patients, you may use this code—BBP1202A—to get additional 15 bids (apart from the 5 free bids you earn) during registration.
I am planning to buy a portable computer after Apple exhibited tantrum a week ago that resulted in work delay. Because of my limited budget, I have to look for a cheap but reliable portable computer. My friend suggested going for a netbook since my main purpose is to have a backup machine in case something will happen to Apple.
However, netbooks are like Internet domains--the one I like is not available. For instance, I like the Asus Eee PC 1101HA but this model is not available here in Davao City. Then, I'm wishing for Lenovo S10-2 2Gb memory, but no computer shop has this type of spec.
Since the price of a faster netbook is somewhat closed to the price of a cheaper notebook, another friend suggested to go for a notebook instead of a 10-inch portable computer. As you can see, the Asus Eee Pc 1005HA with 2Gb memory and pre-installed Windows 7 starter costs PHP 24k+ (around $510). With that amount, I can already purchase an Intel Dual Core Compaq Presario or Emachines (product of Acer).
But then again, the specs of those notebooks are not to my liking.
Now, my friends with technical expertise advise me to just stretch my budget so I can purchase the kind of portable computer that I want.
If I would heed their advice, I might as well buy an Intel Pentium Dual Core HP Compaq notebook in a 12.1-inch display. It has a 3GB memory and a 320 GB hard disk at a price of PHP 32k+ (around $700) available at Silicon Valley and Digital Interface, NCCC Mall.
Or I'll just wait until my sister can buy a system unit so I could use my father's laptop, which is currently in her possession.
Truly, it is difficult to acquire expensive thing when you have limited resources. Sigh.

Water walking ball is the reason my nephew, Borgy, did not want to leave Davao City. He tried it once at MTS and he wanted to go back the following day. Well, I could not blame him. I think walking or floating on water without getting wet is, far and away, amusing.
This is a Sponsored Post written by me on behalf of Eye-Fi. All opinions are 100% mine.
After my cousin's wedding last weekend, I still have not browsed those photos I took. Why? The pictures are not yet uploaded in my computer. Why? The USB cable is not available and I could not find my card reader. Now, how am I able to edit those photos and deliver them to my cousin as part of a wedding gift? Is there a way to upload photos without the use of USB cable or card reader? Or how about a method to transfer photos from my camera to my computer, wirelessly?
Fortunately, I just learned about how to make my camera wireless with the use of Eye-Fi memory card. As the term implies, it is a Wi-Fi enabled SD card. This means that I can transfer all the pictures from my camera to my computer without USB cable or card reader. It is, truly, the easiest way to get all the photos in my camera. Plus, it would allow me to have all those photos taken a few months ago but are still in my digital camera.
Another advantage of Eye-Fi memory card is that it comes in a 4Gb memory and it has a feature that automatically organizes photos by date. Now, that's useful.
I am watching this video-- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h7CnHCCVSEE&feature=player_profilepage --to learn more about how the products works. You too can join me in getting to know more of this useful device. Oh, by the way, Eye-Fi memory card needs a SDHC capable camera and wireless router to be functional.
I just found out that Reader's Digest has given me a different kind of birthday gift. Yes, little things give me enjoyment. That's why when I read my comment and name (full name) on the Interact department of Reader's Digest, my smile wouldn't die away while reading the rest of the articles featured in November 2009 issue of the widely-read magazine in Asia.
I know that this is considered non-essential, but it is essential for me. Not everyone has the chance for their comments or thoughts to be put into print in one of the most respectable magazines in the world—Reader's Digest.
This is not actually the first time that my comment was publicized in RD Asia/Philippines. I submitted four comments and one photo for Unseen Asia. Out of four, three of them were featured and one was not so lucky. Unfortunately, my entry for Unseen Asia, which was taken using D40x, did not make it. If it did, I would have a Xacti camera now. Hehe…
Your comments may also be published by going to rdasia.com/comments. And if you want to receive $100, you may want to submit original jokes, anecdotes and fillers to RD. And if you want higher payment ($350), then compose an article for My Story (unpublished personal stories) column.
As for me, RD did not give me any royalty but I receive a truly different kind of gift for my birthday. I think that's more than enough.

Everybody wants to set out into something prolific. Because of that, my brother and I have contrived to put up a food cart business here in Davao City. The only hindrance is the location. Mall spaces are too costly while affordable spaces are taken.
Prices for commercial spaces may range from PHP 15,000 to PHP 50,000. Plus, most of them require three-month deposit. Huhu…
But we're not ready to give up. I know that we could still discover a perfect place for our food cart business here in Davao City—a place where there is foot traffic. I'm not sure when and where, though. Sigh… Can you help me out?

Watch out Madonna. Susan Boyle's version of You'll See is way better than yours. She has put more soul to it, especially in this part: "You think that I can never laugh again, you'll see." I bade farewell to Windows Vista last week and welcomed Windows 7. Because of the annoying blue screen of death, I decided to wipe out Vista from my system.
According to some of the actual users of Windows 7 here in the Philippines, my current operating system exhibits fewer blue screen compared with a machine running Windows Vista. Unfortunately, a few minutes after Windows 7 was completely installed, blue screen of death appeared… not just once but thrice.
Nevertheless, I like the graphical user interface of my new OS. It looks like… Vista but more colorful, I would say. I just do not like the gadget (sidebar for Vista). The “always on top” option of Windows 7 is different because I could not make it look like a taskbar. I just installed Google Desktop so that I can always see my analog clock.
They say that Windows 7 is more efficient than Vista in using hardware resources. By that it means the former is faster. But based on my experience, I think they are the same. J
In addition to that, many users think that Windows 7 is more stable than Windows Vista. In other words, there are fewer crashes on Windows 7. But I’m not sure about this because, as I mentioned earlier, BOD appeared after installation of 7.
Start menu is still the same as that of Vista, even though they say that 7 has improved.
The only difference (I think) is that of the taskbar because it shows you a thumbnail preview of a minimized program.
Another thing I like about 7 is that .avi files can be played through Windows Media Player.
I think I’m going to give Windows 7 a month before I can truly say that 7 is better than Vista.

My friend, Christian, came to visit Davao last week. He agreed to take photos (for free) of the available products at JDLCN Micro-Devices and Electronics Supply using his Nikon D700.
Here are some of the shots:
Sunglasses with Bluetooth 2Gb MP3 Player —with this gadget, you can listen to your favorite tunes without those cords.
Spy camera watch—the watch that you need when you want a spy tool that will not draw attention wherever you go.
As you can see, photos taken using DSLR (digital single lens reflex) cameras, like Nikon D700, are different than merely using point and shoot digital cameras. The shots are fantastic. Nikon D700 can truly transform the not-so-lovely subjects into breathtaking photos.
Thanks Tianx for spending a few hours of your time to take these photos using your Nikon D700.

Since our Cebu escapade is cancelled because of unavoidable circumstance, we are now planning to visit another "Cebu" this November.
Lake Sebu is one of the tourist spots in South Cotabato, Philippines. December to January are said to be the best months to visit Lake Sebu.
Lake Sebu is seated 3,000 feet above sea level. Boating around the lake is what I want to try, besides eating grilled tilapia (yum yum).
I'm also excited to take photos of Seven Waterfalls located away from Lake Sebu. A hiking trail is available that would lead up to the mountain. But I doubt if we could still go hiking because of limited time.
So far, I only hear good things about Lake Sebu.

My friends and I are planning to visit Cebu on the third Sunday of January 2010, which is in time for the Sinulog Festival. And now, I'm looking for a cheap airfare. The cheaper airfare I could find is offered by Cebu Pacific. Its PHP 988 Go Lite Fare promo has a sale period from October 24 to 27 2009 and a travel period from December 1, 2009 to February 28, 2010.
Go Lite Fare is offered for guests who travels without checked-in bags. A carry-on bag should not exceed 7 kilograms.
Philippine Airlines, on the other hand, does not have that kind of promo rate. So if I'm going to travel with PAL, I'll be spending PHP 2,132 to go to Cebu and PHP 1,417 to go back to Davao. But I can travel with a checked-in baggage.
With the cheaper airfare of Cebu Pacific, I might be teaming up with them in going to Cebu for the celebration of Sinulog Festival. Is it a good choice or not?

What I Know About The Philippines: By An American
Goodbye For Now, Former President Corazon Aquino
He made use of inexpensive but powerful way of disseminating his future plans for the United States Of America. And his followers responded by generating buzz using social media. Because of that, Obama’s hits on the Internet were organic. Through social media, Obama became popular not just in the US but also in other countries.
A report called Obamanomics came out to study such wide success of social media in Obama’s campaign. The said report acceded to the fact that Obama’s way of reaching out to the American people changed the Internet landscape. Bloggers and fans worldwide showed their support for Obama through their own blogs, as well as the social media networks.
The victory of Obama has just proven the usefulness of social media in helping individuals achieved their goals. Through social media, you can promote your talents and skills or interact with other people with the same interests as you have. Socia media indeed made a difference to the lives of human beings.
My friend forwarded me an email attaching these photos. They were just in time to put a smile on my face while my world is in turmoil.

Espadrilles originated from France and Spain. Traditionally, they are flat shoes in natural colors. They are known to have soles made out of straw or wood, while the tops are usually made out of fabric. By adding ribbon and platforms to the traditional style, Yves St. Laurent remodeled the espadrilles into a fashionable shoe.
It is difficult to find a good pair of espadrilles here in Davao. I wish I could travel to Manila soon and visit Sueno de Espadrilles at the Podium where espadrilles are widely available.

Grooming may seem unnecessary to some individuals. However, according to a recent survey commissioned by Gillette and conducted by Harris Interactive, 84% or 420 out of 500 HR professionals are of the same mind that well-groomed employees are more likely to achieve success than those who are not well-groomed.
Furthermore, the survey showed that 99% of HR professionals find proper grooming as more important than firm handshake. In order to fortify the findings of the said survey, Gillette collaborated with Mark Jeffries, a career expert, and Brett Fahlgren, GQ style correspondent, to provide expert advice for men who want to land in the job (well-compensated) that they want and for guys who want to get ahead in their current careers.
Job seekers and professionals may now review expert advice of Mark and Brett and read the Hire Guide to know what is really in the minds of HR professionals. Gillette Career Advantage provides Gillette Career Quiz that you can take to evaluate your potential.
You may visit Gillette Career Advantage to use the tools, information and advice given to help you achieve what you desire. You can also review the findings of the survey and press release and get hold of the grooming and career expert advice at Gillette Resource Center.
It was still a quiet place when we arrived, with only three employees present. But as we enjoyed swimming, we heard the arrival of some guests, who will be using the function hall. But we were still alone, enjoying the satisfying water temperature of the pool. However, we needed to cease our enjoyment because of the sun's painful heat and our skin color became darker—darker than tan.
Anyway, Robinson's Highlands is an exclusive subdivision for the affluent families. Inside that for-rich-only village, we saw the supposed white, glass house of the Pambansang Kamao, Manny Pacquiao, near the country club. We didn't see Manny (he's still in Baguio for training) or Aling Dionesia outside that very expensive abode.
By the way, the swimming pool fee for adults is PHP 60, while a child below 12 years old should pay PHP 40. The fee is slightly lower when you are a homeowner of Robinson's Highlands. Robinson's Country Club is still new, so the place is still clean. And we plan to go back probably in October.

Lawn tennis involves a lot of running and strokes are different from badminton. The racquet for lawn tennis is heavier than the badminton's. This is the reason Steffi Graf or Maria Sharapova has wider shoulder and bigger arms.
Although the backhand stroke is said to be the weakness of almost all Filipino tennis players, my two-handed backhand stroke is better than my forehand stroke. And when I play lawn tennis, I am not inflammable, unlike Serena Williams who was penalized for showing tantrums over a foot fault.
But lawn tennis is not the sport of choice for people who are afraid of getting darker skin. However, you can still play this game without fear of 'transforming your white skin complexion' because lawn tennis can be played in a covered court. In Davao, the only covered court we have is in Dona Vicenta Subdivision, near Victoria Plaza.
As long as you enjoy playing lawn tennis, doesn't matter whether you will get tanned or not. What counts most is that you lose weight and gain friends.

I do not find Bruno as funny either. The funny scenes were forced and the jokes didn't tickle my brain.

Nonetheless, it is semi-porn. As per Barbara's advice: Do not take your kids.

During the Kadayawan culmination day, Rey Winston, his girl friend (or girlfriend?) and I went out to watch the movie UP courtesy of '2+1'. I never thought UP would be remarkable that I learned two important lessons from this film-- perseverance and sacrifice.
If you have a dream, you have to take that dream out of the drawing board and make it a reality. However, reaching your dream may not be that easy. There are obstacles you have to defeat. And sometimes, those obstacles are intentionally given to remind you that your goal may not bring you complete happiness. And those obstacles are a way for you to reach your true happiness in life. You may sacrifice your dream but you know it's worth it.
After seeing that heartwarming film, we ate at Blue Carabao, Davao City branch. It's a 'maka-masa' eatery—you know the type of place where you may catch HC. And after eating hinalang without spice, squid adobo and lechon kawali, we headed to Rancho Palos Verdes Country Club, Diversion Road, Davao City (near Crocodile Park). That trip was unplanned, though.
It's a sports and country club with PHP 80,000+ annual membership fee.
To go there, you should have a car. If you do not have an automobile, then you might want to consider shedding those pounds by walking approximately 1 km from the Diversion Road entrance before reaching Rancho Palos Verdes.
Anyway, the place has a 3-ft deep swimming pool with a beach-like landscape on one side. They also have courtsides for badminton, table tennis, basketball and a lot more. But I did not see a tennis court—too bad.
But it was a quiet place when we got there. Only few people managed to eat at their poolside restaurant.
If Rancho Palos Verdes Country Club would only reconsider making their annual membership fee affordable, then I would immediately apply to become an exclusive member.
Well, after using their ***, we left. Thankfully, Rey managed to drive us home before the downpour.
On the other hand, I would like to thank these people for frequently dropping EC on my blog, even though I rarely reciprocate the gesture. They may not be reading my posts, but their visits are highly appreciated. You might want to check out my Top 10 Entrecard droppers at this page => Token Of Gratitude.

Miss Venezuela Crowned Miss Universe 2009 But Heidi Montag A Big Mistake
A Walk To Remember
I was sitting on my couch, eating twister fries from McDonalds, while watching the show of beauty and perfection. But Heidi Montag ruined my day by performing at the 58th Miss Universe 2009 held in Bahamas.
They could have chosen a better performer than Heidi Montag. So, I changed channel (from ABS-CBN to HBO to Disney Channel and to other cable channels) and forgot to switch back to the live coverage of Miss Universe 2009. Because of Heidi Montag's performance, I wasn’t able to winnow Miss Venezuela from other contestants. Heidi Montag performing live at the Miss Universe 2009 was definitely a big mistake (in my perception).
Anyway, Stefania Fernandez of Venezuela—yet again-- walked away with the title of Miss Universe 2009. Miss Dominican Republic (Ada Aimee De la Cruz) took the first runner-up prize, while Miss Kosovo (Gona Dragusha) gained the second runner-up throne. Miss Australia (Rachael Finch) and Miss Puerto Rico (Mayra Matos Perez) finished as third runner-up and fourth runner up, respectively.
The Miss Photogenic title was given to Miss Thailand (Chutima Durongdej) while Miss Congeniality was awarded to Miss China (Wang Jingyao). And for Miss Philippines—better luck next time. :D

The theme
"One People in Communion with the Earth (Nahiusang Katawhan Nakigdait sa Kalibutan)" is this year's Kadayawan Festival theme. The theme describes the unity of the people from various cultures in preserving our planet Earth.
Indak-Indak sa Kadalanan and Floral Float parade are just two of the activities of the annual celebration of Kadayawan Festival.
Where to stay in Davao?
Davao offers comfortable places for you to stay during this week-long celebration of Kadayawan Festival. For instance, you can have a good night's sleep at Eden Nature's Park after your exciting expedition in the city of Davao. The 95% man-made resort offers 40% off on rooms, as well as Mountain Villas. Or you can stay within the city in a five-star hotel, like Marco Polo Davao.
Culmination
The culmination of the 24th Kadayawan 2009 will be on the 23rd of August. I'm fortunate enough to live in one of the Philippines's progressive cities—Davao. I can witness this colorful festival. But one thing is missing; the camera won't be available this week (huhuhu).
